Ms Sophia Safia Sulemana, a midwife at the Kunkwa Health Centre in the Mamprugu Moaduri District of the Northern Region was part of the 2017 newly inductees of the N&MC that were inducted into the health profession on Monday in Accra.

She was said to have delivered the pregnant woman of a baby boy at 3:00am while on board the bus on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

Background

  • The trained nurse who put her expertise to play while in a Bolgatanga bound passenger bus has been hailed by many after she went to the rescue of a woman and delivered her.
  • Sophia Safia Sulemana delivered an expectant mother from Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region while the vehicle was in motion.
  • The woman in question was on her way to Tamale for antenatal because her time was due in a fortnight only to start experiencing some pains along the way which suggested she was in the process of giving them.
  • Nurse Sophia Safia Sulemana who is a staff Midwife at Kunkwa health centre in the Mamprugu-Moaduri District on sensing that something was amiss, offered to help and rushed to her rescue, asked for space and professionally delivered the woman to the shock of other passengers.
    • Another passenger only identified as Mawunyo Bubutor who was on board the bus, shared this in a post;“Nursing is said to be a science, skills and an art. At 3:34 am of 23rd September 2018. Whilst travelling to Bolgatanga, a lady was in labour on the bus whilst the bus was still moving. It took the intervention of this spectacular angel and who is a practicing midwife on board to deliver this woman in the bus. The driver has to stop for the midwife and two other female nurses to help deliver this woman on the Buipe Road. I just wanna celebrate staff Midwife by name Sophia Safia Sulemana of Kunkwa health centre in the Mamprugu Moaduri district of the Northern Region. The child and the mother was later handled over to the husband who took the wife to West Hospital in the Tamale metropolis. God bless you????????????????????????. Please let us share this good story”

WATCH VIDEOS: Lead Investigator of Anas’ Tiger Eye PI allegedly sh0t D£AD in Madina

Published

An investigator with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI has allegedly been shot dead by gunmen in Madina.

The investigator, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, was notably exposed by Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong in the aftermath of the #Number12 exposé on corruption in Ghana football.

He was reportedly killed by two gunmen on a motorbike who shot into the car he was driving.

Anas, in a message on Facebook announced the death, saying Ahmed was hit three times; twice in the chest and once in the neck following which he died on the spot.

This is the third of such an incident in which an individual has been shot and killed by unknown assailants where nothing was taken from the deceased.

The most recent case was the killing of the Public Affairs Manager of the Tema Port, who was found stabbed and killed in her bedroom last Sunday.

In a war of words with the investigative journalist in July 2018, Mr. Agyapong went on a show on the TV station he owns, the Madina-based Net 2 TV, and urged residents to beat up Ahmed whenever they saw him.

A photo of Ahmed was also revealed on the show. Citi News sources say he was the lead investigator of the Tiger Eye PI team in the Number 12 exposure on corruption in Ghana football.

He is reported to be the investigator who arranged the meeting with former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi in Ghana and abroad.

But no link has been drawn between the MPs call to violence and the Wednesday evening murder.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas, in a video on his Facebook page, presented the announcement of his colleague’s murder within the context of Mr. Agyapong urging residents of Madina to go after Ahmed.

The journalist has also spoken to Graphic Online about the incident

“He was just shot and killed, nothing was taken from him”, another member of the Anas’ team told Graphic Online.

The police is however yet to comment on the matter, although his remains have been deposited at the Police Hospital.

Mr. Agyapong has been criticised for inciting violence against Anas and his team.

The MP accused the investigator of being corrupt and evil in the wake of his probe into Ghana football.

He also said Anas deserved to be hanged for his purported corrupt deeds.

Reporters Without Borders came out to say it was alarmed by threats to the life of Anas.

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) at the time also called for 24-hour protection for Anas.
